Venne costruito tra il 1732 e il 1739 come collegio dagli scolopi che officiavano l&#8217;adiacente chiesa di San Salvatore e, dopo la chiusura della scuola nel 1806, divenne episcopio.<br \/>\nNel XIX secolo fu rifatta la facciata verso il mare con la realizzazione dell&#8217;attuale loggiato su pi\u00f9 ordini.
